From phpbb2 to phpbb3

I've been using phpbb2.x for about 5 to 6 years now. I've been hacked at least three times, but other than that, the open-source forum system has been good to me and my 35+ unique visitors that use the board monthly. It's been roughly 3 years since phpbb3.0 was released in late 2007 and I still hadn't upgraded. Read more »

One of the most innovative CD releases ever!

The electronic musician and educator, Moldover has releases a new CD of original music. Big deal.

Yes very much a big deal. If you purchase his new cd you also get his custom designed CD case, which features ciricut board that has the entire tracklist written on it. But it doesn't stop there. The circuit board has a button that makes one sound and a light sensor for a theremin. Another One Bites The Dust: Reno 911! Cancelled

Trudy Weigel - Brain damaged, but still sexy.

I remember Summer 2003 when Reno 911! premiered. I watched the first episode and scrutinized it thoroughly, I even remember saying it had 10 episodes before it would be canceled on a now defunct Dream Theater message board.

By the end of the first season, I turned my opinion around and began to enjoy the show, and even a developed a crush on Trudy Weigel. I can't explain it. Read more »

48 Hour Film Project Orlando 2009

Again it has come and gone. The most intense 48 hours of my year is spent surrounded by friends, new acquaintances, movie set jargon, artists, and sleep deprivation. Check out my team's entry last year 86 during the inaugural Orlando 48HFP. Read more »

The Very Best of Zombies

Zombies are an interesting breed. While the do not exist, they certain do cause enough stir and terror in the media. Anyone can describe and animate Zombies however they like. In Shaun of the Dead and Night of the Living Dead, they are slow, dumb, mindless beings that want to eat you. In 28 Days Later Series they are fast moving, smart, relentless creatures, that want to eat you.

I don't blame them, I'm tasty.

Below are some of my favorite pieces that feature Zombies. Read more »

Save Earl Hickey and spread Hickey Karma

I should be used to this by now. High-quality television shows being canceled at their height. Ethan Suplee who plays Randy on "My Name is Earl" , confirmed the cancellation of the show via his @ethansuplee twitter account.

The show entered prime time with a bang in 2006, winning a few awards and praises, yet ratings dwindled after that. The show will not be returning for the 2009-2010 NBC Thursday line-up. Between "Arrested Development", "Pushing Daisies", and I'm sure with "Better Off Ted" to follow, "My Name is Earl" will enter the same fate of cancellation at near heights. Read more »

First The Vinyl Comeback, Now Cassettes?

Cassettes were my first form of audio enjoyment. I had Billy Joel and Michael Jackson tapes at an early age and quickly grew into Guns n' Roses, Metallica, and Ozzy tapes. I'm sure I collected about 50 tapes that I played on a My First Sony mini-boom-box with one speaker, until I bit the bullet and bought a CD player.

Now I own maybe 10 cassettes, which have accumulated dust, 300+ CDs, and roughly 100 vinyl albums. I do believe that I still have a Metallica "Garage Days Re-visited" cassette, which is rather rare. Read more »
