Movie Reviews

In mid-September I started CinemaFunk, a movie review website offers critical and analytical reviews of recent and classic films. Currently, I am the only contributor, however I plan on adding more contributors in the long-term.

CinemaFunk is also a little SEO experiment of mine where I am trying to work less on keywords, and more on having lots of quality content that isn't written for the robots and spiders. The target term that I'm using in link-building is 'movie-reviews'. This is a tough keyword, my goal is to break top-200 on Google. If I can sustain that for a few months, I would increase my link-building.

SEO wise, I have not spent too much time on most traditional aspects. I wanted to spend more time on writing quality content. I have a few quality links such as DMOZ, however most of my links are nofollow blog comments that I've made.

What interests me is that with only one non-nofollow link, I've attained a PageRank of 3 as of early February. Is nonfollow no longer relevant?

Little by little, I plan on asking to add on contributors as I've noticed that fresher content has an importance in the short term. This way movie reviews can be added on a daily basis.
